In Idaho, within the past month, we have seen:
1) - Presidential visit comes and goes 2) - Governor Kempthorne poses with #1 3) - Dalai Lama comes and goes 4) - Governor Kempthorne poses for #3 5) - Idaho Congressman Butch Otter votes against second Katrina relief package.
Maybe nothing earth-shattering has happened in Idaho lately, but several events with enough import to Idahoans and Americans to warrant a post or two have. Hello, anybody out there?? Pocatello, Moscow, Coeur d'Alene, Weippe?
-Was Butch wrong in asking for some accountability in the (interim) $52B Katrina package? I don't happen to think so.
-Is Dirk nothing more than a political opportunist? He never got that expected cabinet position, after all. Is he still holding out for Assistant to the Sub-Secretary of Agriculture, with 3-1/2 years left?
-Was sending Idaho school kids to see the Dalai Lama, and gasp, be blessed by him, in no less a den of liberalism than Sun Valley, a violation of the concept of separation of Church and State?
Post or paste opinions here, Idaho DU'ers. Or not.
Sigh,,,
