On May 22 Ann Wright, former Army Reserve Colonel and career State Dept diplomat, was detained, handcuffed, and shackled to a chair at Ft. McNair Army Base for handing out postcards for a showing of this film in a D.C. theatre. Her alleged crime? Passing out "seditious" material!

8,000 GI's have gone AWOL or have in some other way refused to fight in the war in Iraq. Sir! No Sir is about the tens of thousands who refused to fight in Vietnam, and helped change the course of the war.

1st Lt. Ehren Watada is the first military officer to publicly refuse to deploy to the Iraq, calling the war both "illegal" and "immoral" and the Bush administration's violation of both the U.S. Constitution and the Nuremberg Charter. You can access information about Lt. Watada's case at http://www.thankyoult.org.

The showing of this film is by special arrangement with the film's director, David Zeiger. It's showing in Honolulu couldn't be more timely!

Tables will be set up by various organizations from 6 pm.
