Former pro wrestler disqualified for Cherokee seat
Former pro wrestler disqualified for Cherokee seat

By JILL YOUNG MILLER

Published on: 05/06/06

Former pro wrestler Rick Steiner was tossed out of the ring this week as a Republican candidate for the Cherokee County School Board.

But he plans to return to the match under his legal name, Robert Rechsteiner.

After county Supervisor of Elections Janet Munda couldn't find Steiner's name among registered voters during a routine search of qualified candidates, she called him and told him he wasn't qualified, after all, to seek office.

It was Rick Steiner who was appointed last year to fill out a school board term. And it was Rick Steiner who was the only person to qualify for that seat last week, making him, it seemed, the de facto winner.

But only people who qualify under their legal names may seek public office.

4. The only wrestler I would ever want to see elected

to any public office, Is Mick Foley, he has been on Air America and has campaigned for John Kerry. It would be worth him running for something just to see him get invited to be guest on Rush or O'Reilly and see them try to intimidate him because of the way he looks and then watch him fire back in an intelligent manner.

3. Anyone know how Jesse Ventura
got away with using a stage name instead of James Janos his real name? or is it different state to state?

Anyways I hope this bully doesn't get elected to anything ever. In a worked sport as pro wrestling you are suppose to protect your opponent in a match as much as possible to prevent any injuries. This guy was know for being a jerk and dropping people on their heads, while often using legit stiff punches on opponents who they put their safety in his hands. The company he use to work for WCW, well the last couple of weeks it was in business and on TV, he just went out and beat the hell out of his opponents legit because he was mad his job was ending. Why was he mad, because he was making a cool $700K a year thanks in part to his hunting buddy being the president of the company and he would never make that kind of money again.

Maybe this Repuke could go hunting with Dick Cheney, I would love see what would happen if someone hit the wrong target.
