Protest "Mad Max" Burns and Dick Cheney - Savannah 10/28
Repugs are trying to regain the congressional seat which John Barrow won in '04.

Cheney will be present in the Savannah area Friday for a private fundraiser to seek large $$$ for the Mad Max" campaign.

As you remember, Burns lost his '04 bid for re-election in a campaign fraught with homophobia and the smearing of anyone supportive of rights for the GLBT community.

And you will also remember the campaign tactics of painting all Democrats as being weak and un-American.

The repugs have already started campaign '06 and it's time we stand up to them early.

Rally and leafletting will be held across the Talmadge Bridge at the Hutchinson Island Turn-Off.
Friday, Oct.28th at 7:00PM

There will also be leafletting during the Jewish Food Festival this weekend and during the upcoming Savannah Film Festival.

Call for details for any of these events.

1. John is moving to Savannah from Athens to run for that congressional seat!

John is a personal friend of mine. I've been dissappointed with some of his votes but the Republicans have him on the ropes. He's trying to walk a tightrope so that he can run in a gretly changed district. He beat Max Burns and then The Republicans redistricted him out of his home in Athens. :(

2. Savannah is very Blue. That much is good, at least.
We probably won't make the Friday rally, but we hope to attend one of the other events this weekend.

3. I can't attend since I have to work here in the Athens area.
You'll like John. He's a good guy and very smart (Harvard Law School grad) and he's from a very old Athens Family. His dad was Judge Barrow. The judge was an Athens institution! The Barrow family is prominent in Athens and Georgia history.

We miss him here in Athens. He was a great county commisisoner. The local Republicans really hate him. It just killed them when he won the house seat!

:hi: from Athens! I love Savannah.

7. I posted this for a friend. I was out of town myself.
Long day, just got in awhile ago.

I'll probably find out something tomorrow.

Hubby and I are planning on helping by leafletting at the Jewish Food Festival this Sunday.

Seems Burns and Kingston made an appearance there two years ago.
