Atlanta's Music Mid-Town moved to June 10-12, 2005 @ $75.00!
Isn't that more than DOUBLE (the price) from last year?:wtf: And, does anyone know why they moved it to mid-June?

Hundreds of Thousands of people, in the middle of Atlanta, standing in unshaded asphalt parking lots, in the middle of Summer! That's going to be REALLY Hot and Humid in June. Add to that, $5.00 Beers and $3.00-$4.00 bottles of water and mostly mediocre bands...

Maybe it's just me getting old (41), but that does NOT sound like much fun anymore. To me it sound like a potential Riot, and I'm not talking about the good kind of Riot.

O.K., it does sound like they got a bunch of bands this year, that are a LOT better than last year, but COME ON, $75.00 for this event?

Anyone else thinking of going, or are just so fed up that you're definitely NOT going?

1. They moved it so as not to compete with
Bonnaroo. Not sure about ticket prices. I haven't been in a few years. The last time I went kids were throwing plastic bottles. Call me crazy, but I don't really enjoy being hit in the head with flying Sprite bottles.

2. What's Bonnaroo?
When was the last time you when? Was it still at the 10th Street site? It's nowhere close to as fun now, at the current site (too much walking between stages).

3. Bonnaroo is a huge music festival in TN
Coming up very soon - http://www.bonnaroo.com/2005/

I haven't been since they moved the site. Artists aren't very interesting anymore and even though I'm only 30, I am too old for the crowd that they are catering to these days. Besides, I saw enough drunk 16 year old stupid girls to last me a lifetime the last time I went, don't need to see anymore. :)

4. I'd pay it...
...if I didn't have to factor in a flight from London to get there!

Seriously, though, Lou Reed's playing and that's a good thing - almost worth the expense of making the trip because I could then combine the concert with a visit to my family (the non-fundie ones anyway)! It's tempting because the exchange rate is so good right now.

I saw the Pixies last year at the Virgin Music Festival here in the UK - excellent. Also Keane at the same festival, who are a fairly new band that is big over here - sort of Coldplay-ish - but I don't know if they've caught on in the States yet.

Also, Francine Reed is amazing - what a powerful voice! I would love to see her.

I miss going to concerts back home so, gotta say, if I could be there I would even if I had to pay $75.00 for a ticket (although you're right, that sounds like a lot).

5. Are you a Pixies fan?
I bought one of their C.D.'s a few years ago, but wasn't too impresses.
<>

I had never heard them (but had heard they were good), so I asked the music store clerk if the CD I was buying was any good. He wasn't much help.

Is their a Pixies C.D. that is THE "Must Have" Pixies C.D.? Or one that gives a good idea what people like about them?
