Could Roy Barnes pull a Clinton?
I'm told that Sonny Perdue's approval rating is in the low 40's right now and he is not all that popular. Is it possible that come 2006, Roy Barnes could run against Perdue with the idea of: "Compare the job I did as your governor to the job that this asshole did. Who would you rather have?"

I know that Georgia has been going more GOP over the years, thanks to Benedict Miller but this will be a midterm election and the President will not be on the ballot to pull Perdue in on his coat-tails, nor will Perdue have a President with approval ratings in the high 70's coming to campaign for him.

What are the odds?

Rove and Reed have staked Georgia out as the center of Southern operations. Reed will be our next Lt. Governor. Sonny will either just hang on (Diebold) or be knocked out in the primary and replaced by a Rove henchman to succeed him.

You're forgetting that our economy has stayed pretty good throughout Bush's reign. If things were really crappy, then Barnes would have a slight chance. Oh wait....Diebold.

3. Reed just went to Iowa.
I heard this on C-Span this am. He's making a move to set up a future run for national office. It pains me to say that he is a fellow GA Bulldog. He was in school when I was there. Back in the 1980s, he was a RW tool in training.
