1. One thing I can think of...He's splitting the Repugs
While I definitely would have preferred Jim Davis over Crist, Crist is, at least not a uber-right ideologue. Some of his more centrists stance have PO'd the Rubio wing of the Repubs and may create some openings for more Democrats to be elected.

2. Here's my blog entry on him from back in February:

In that entry, I mention his kicking out Jeb's would-be political appointees, his proposal for funding stem-cell research, his stance on gay marriage (which can be termed anti-anti-gay marriage I suppose, but it's the best I've heard from a Republican), and his restoring voting rights to ex-cons.

3. Has any of that actually happened ?
Or is it just the one day news cycle to get favorable attention then goes away in reality.

4. kicking out Jeb's appointees happened, as did restoring voting rights to ex-cons...
but Crist's stem-cell bill got watered down by the GOP congress.

Here's another good article on the voting rights thing, which I'm convinced will definitely influence Florida's elections down the line. Maybe not in 2008, but definitely by 2012.

And here's the nuts and bolts of it:
