Nonpartisan website describing constitutional amendments

I think amendment 3 is Bush/repuke backed, after he got defeated on the class size reduction and minimum wage amendments they want to take more power away from the people. Just FYI.

2. Stupid Floridians
Edited on Sat Oct-14-06 08:05 PM by iamjoy
Amendment 3 is definately backed by the RWers, they think it is too easy to amend our constitution. They got their knickers in a knot because the citizens dared to get initiatives passed concerning class size and minimum wage.

Stupid people of Florida should trust the legislature to do what's best for them. :eyes:

Actually, I'd support amending the constitution to require a 2/3 vote by voters if we had a decent initiative process as an alternative. Light rail, class size, pregnant pigs and minimum wage do not belong in a constitution in my opinion - these are legislative issues. But, since the largely Republican legislature doesn't want to listen to Floridians and pass the laws the people want (too busy kissing the butts of big business, especially insurance) the Constitution is our only option.

i'm definitely voting 'no' on 3. we may have been stupid about the pig thing but the minimum wage, class size and returning the university system to the non-partisan regents were good things, imo. maybe next time we can get gerrymandering reform on the ballot . . . at least if we vote 'no' on 3 this go-round.
