More conversation is being heard in regard to oil drilling off the coast of Florida, in state waters. 1-7 miles out? Former Gov. Charllie Crist and Alex Sink put forth this petition to amend our state constitution in Tallahassee yesterday. We know that most Floridians will vote for this constitutional amendment. We also have support in the legislature to have them put it on the ballot. I say get ready to do this ourselves. This only takes a minute.

Save Our Florida Beaches is a coalition of current and former elected officials, environmental groups and Florida citizens who believe that oil drilling should be banned within 10 miles of our coast (also known as "state sovereign waters").

The time has come to send a message to future generations, the federal government, and to the millions of tourists who grace our beaches every year, that we will not allow drilling to occur near our coast. Not now, not ever!
