State Senator wants to exempt AP classes from the Class Size Amendment
David Simmons, Senator from Maitland, suggests that AP classes shouldn't be limited to 25 kids. I can understand the argument that a kid should not be eliminated from an AP class because she would be the 26th kid. However, to suggest that we just raise class size in AP courses is not wise. Please pass this along to AP teachers, parents of AP students, or AP students themselves so they can see what the senator is suggesting. Please contact him and politely explain that increasing class size for overachievers (as he calls them) or underachievers is not what Floridians wanted in 2002 or 2010.
