I listen to the Philips Phile on XM up here in NC. Jim was talking about AGFT, and it's a brilliant idea.

2. This is an excellent program....

it was started here in Orlando by Gary Landwirth, the son of the man who started "Give Kids the World". The program has a store where teachers can receive supplies for their classroom at no cost and also gives kids supplies and items like backpacks, hygenie items (hairbrushes)so that low-income children can go to school. They also have a program called "A Gift for Music" which I am well-acquainted with. This is a music program where low-income children can take free music lessons taught by students from the University of Central Florida. Because of budget cuts, arts programs have been cut back sharply and A Gift for Music helps kids develop their artistic skills. AGFM started in one school four years ago and it is now in 10 schools.
