Feeney can't get out of Abramoff's shadow
Mark K. Matthews of our Washington Bureau filed this story:

WASHINGTON Two people stand between U.S. Rep. Tom Feeney and a fourth term: Suzanne Kosmas and Jack Abramoff.

Kosmas is his Democratic opponent. Abramoff is his albatross, a convicted influence-peddler who took Feeney and seven others on a Scotland golf junket in 2003.

Feeney, while insisting he didn't know Abramoff picked up his tab, ultimately repaid the $5,643 he said was his share of the trip. But for the past year, he has faced a lingering federal investigation that -- though it has produced no criminal charges -- has provided campaign ammunition for Democrats.

"I think in the next eight weeks, it will be their primary focus," said Feeney glumly.

1. Have you been reading about the suspicious mail that he's been getting.
The article below says he has an office near UCF, or rather, close enough for UCF police to respond. Is it just a coincidence, or does he have something going on with the campus?

The Titusville letter marks the third suspicious package mailed to Feeney in two days. Earlier this morning, an envelope with a powdery substance was delivered to Feeney's Orlando office on Research Parkway. The discovery caused the entire building to be evacuated.

Orange County Fire Rescue personnel were at the building, located at 12424 Research Parkway in east Orange County. The call was dispatched around 9:36 a.m.

The University of Central Florida police officers evacuated the building before Orange County firefighters arrived, said fire spokesman John Mulhall.

Members from Orange County Fire Rescue's hazmat team, were joined by members of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Taskforce and US Postal Inspectors.

2. Democrats should point out McCain venality . ..
Democrats should point out McCain's vengefulness on making a pariah out of Jack Abramoff.

It was all about revenge over the "out-of-wedlock" "black baby" smear; when McCain should have targeted Ralph Reed and Karl Rove.
Check out my blog on this and the new book on McCain's going overboard:
