Politician won't shake hands
SOUTHBURY, Conn. (AP) — No matter what the deal, don't expect this city official to shake on it.

First Selectman Mark Cooper held a news conference Thursday to announce that he won't be shaking hands with anyone until flu season is over sometime next year.

"As a man who shakes many hands ... I don't want to be a vector for flu transmission," he said. "I certainly don't want to be associated with, 'Oh sure, didn't I shake Cooper's hand last week? Now I've got the flu.'"

Cooper said if anyone offers their hand, he will politely decline and give them a brochure on how to stay healthy this winter. He says he wants to set an example by limiting his contact with people.

I even heard church ladies say they have to change rituals at church that involve shaking hands.

3. keep being afraid...lock your doors and be afraid...
but hey, at least this fear has SOME relation to reality, as opposed to west nile virus, sars, etc.

4. Why did I know he's a Republican? :)
Googled him to confirm it -- and yep, there it is.

Prudent - or just obsessive-compulsive?

Anti-bacterial gel, anyone? Gloves?

5.  shaking hands is a stupid custom, especially if you are clairvoyant
I hate touching other people... why do other people DEMAND you touch them.. about 40% of people dont wash their hands after wiping their butt.

i come from a long line of clairvoyants and touching other people is not pleasant...

as far as a hand shake being significant as a means of judging others ..like how well they do it, etc, what crap..about as effective as gazing into their eyes and seeing they are a 'good man', and the F**ker was the X-head of the F'n KGB... dumb fu*k'n Moron
