Rosa L. DeLauro ....I want Commander Guy Impeached.
Here is her letter in reply:

Dear Mr. Weiss:

Thank you for contacting me with your support for beginning the process of impeachment against President Bush. I appreciate having the benefit of your views on this critical matter, and I share your belief that the president should be held accountable for misleading the public about the situation in Iraq .

Like you, I am concerned by the Bush administration's failures in Iraq and at home. I opposed the decision to go to war in Iraq because I did not feel then, nor do I now, that the Administration had developed the moral authority or the strategy necessary to remove the threat posed by Saddam Hussein and ensure a peaceful transition to a new government. Not only did the president produce flawed intelligence in the months prior to the war in Iraq , but it also has become evident that he has no comprehensive plan for winning the peace. Further, the Iraq war has proven a dangerous distraction from the war in Afghanistan , where the Taliban threatens to be resurgent.

Equally troubling, the Bush administration has utilized the war against terrorism as grounds for implementing programs of interrogation and surveillance on Americans that appear to go well beyond the scope of existing law. There is no doubt that our nation must do all we can to defend ourselves against the threat of terrorism. The federal government must be flexible enough to move quickly to track down those who would do us harm. Yet the president and his administration cannot simply make up his own rules, as he may have done in this regard.

We need laws that are tough on terrorism, but also protect the rights of American citizens and uphold our basic freedoms. I am concerned that the president's proposals regarding the interrogation of terrorism suspects and wiretapping of Americans' phone lines are simply not consistent with our democratic values. Our government must respect the unalienable rights afforded by the Constitution. However, this Administration has proven unwilling to hold itself accountable for intelligence failures and numerous other issues, such as the disgraceful treatment of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison.

Congress has a responsibility to the taxpayers and to our constituents to hold the White House accountable for its decisions on these issues. I believe that Congress should exercise its investigative and oversight authority to address the questions that you have raised. I will use every opportunity in the coming months to encourage real oversight of the federal government and to hold accountable any member of the Bush administration who has engaged in wrongdoing. It is my hope that the new Democratic majority can make substantial progress in this regard.

Thank you for sharing your views with me on this critical issue. I ask that you continue to keep me informed of any issue of importance to you in the future.

Sincerely,
Rosa L. DeLauro
Member of Congress

Note: Rosa is one of the good guys but she still doesn't address Impeachment. This is what is wrong with almost all our Congresswomen & Congressmen. I am getting pretty frustrated.
