Hello? Anybody there?

This forum kind of died.

Anyways, I'm impressed with Rell's educational increase and paying it with a income tax increase.

I know Donald Williams has been talking about universal health care. I hope it happens, we need it. And by universal health care, I don't mean the Mitt Romney type.

What do you want done this year?

1. All eyes are on DC lately, I guess
I agree with the income tax increase - as long as it doesn't hit the lower and middle classes as much as the upper classes.

We need to find a way to finance universal health care - not health insurance. I wonder how the San Francisco plan is doing ? It was started at least 6 months ago IRRC.

2. yes, it kind of died off
The part I don't like about Rell's plan is phasing out the estate tax - I'd rather have further cutbacks in the property tax.

5. Crap I didn't know about the estate tax.
The Republicans just can't unwrap their fingers from the estate tax. That's disheartening, I'd rather go your route and leave it be.

3. If you're in eastern CT (Joe Courtney's district)
I'd urge you to write/email/call to Rep. Courtney. Somebody was on WTIC last week and Courtney's camp is saying that the only people who had contacted them regarding Iraq had been those in favor of the Bush/Lieberman/McCain escalation plan.

Unless my 1/9/07 email didn't go through, that was not entirely accurate... but, the contact info for Courtney is:

Thanks for the FYI, I'll let them know.

6. and thanks for letting them know
Hopefully, between my posting it here, on DailyKos and on MyLeftNutmeg, it will generate at least 10-12 emails/letters/phone calls.

9. Are you serious?
"Anyways, I'm impressed with Rell's educational increase and paying it with a income tax increase"

What happen to the lotto money going to pay for education? And they want to increase the tax on cigarettes?

I am not happy with Rell's plan.

I am all for giving more money to education but I thought the lotto money was going for that....I don't want an increase in income tax.
