"Peace activists charter train to NYC march

Local activists have chartered a "peace train" that will depart from Union Station at 8:45 a.m. Saturday for a march in New York City.

Organizers say they have already sold more than 600 tickets for the round-trip excursion, which has a return train scheduled to leave Grand Central Terminal at 4:15 p.m.

The train will make stops in Bridgeport, Westport and Stamford. The round-trip fare from New Haven is $25, but organizer Richard Barnes said the cost is $13 for seniors, veterans and the unemployed.
