CT House to Vote on Civil Unions Tomorrow
I found out about the vote from the American Family Association. Call your rep. if you can. I was going to call mine, but I think he will be voting in favor of it. He is an attorney who specializes in Gay, Lesbian, bi-sexual and trans-gender issues. I didn't know that until the AFA was kind enough to send me to his web site. Thank you for opening my eys AFA. There are times when I love Connecticut!

1. We've got a Supermajority.
It will pass. My rep is one of the driving forces behind this. I couldn't be prouder. =)

2. I became even prouder when a friend sent this:
. . .The guy created a hometown newspaper website that recently won a national award. But he is from Atwood, Kansas and that town just rewarded him by voting 984-113 in favor of the new anti-gay constitutional amendment. So he took the newspaper website down for good and posted this open message to everyone just in time for the award-winning website to be featured on the news. He's still giving them better than they deserve. From the link provided:

An open letter to the Citizens of Atwood.

I sincerely apologize that I cannot represent Atwood anymore. I am completely disappointed and heartbroken (for lack of a better word) at the actions of my hometown, a community that always says how much it cares for others.

You know when I first created AtwoodKansas.com I did so because of my desire to do everything I could to save my hometown from dying like so many other Midwestern towns. . . .

Connecticut -- Your not in Kansas anymore!

a bill that would legalize civil unions in ct is on the go list of bills to be voted on by the ct house of representatives today.

http://www.cga.ct.gov

the session will begin at 1:00 p.m. they will likely debate for quite a few hours (i've been hearing 7 hours) before the house will take a vote. the bill passed the ct senate last week (27/9) and the bill will likely pass in the house with a strong majority.

gov rell (as far as i know) has said that she supports civil unions, but she has yet to make a public statement on whether or not she will sign the bill.

i will not be able to post again until this evening. i will update all information as soon as i possibly can.

edit: the link was dead, this new link works. you can navigate bill action from there.
