Jim Hightower a no-show on Boyles this morning
Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 11:13 AM by eleny
I was looking forward to hearing the exchange between Boyles and Hightower. But Boyles announced that Hightower "didn't feel like getting up early this morning". I just sent an email to the addy on Jim's site to confirm this.

I can understand that perhaps Jim had "too much convention" last night. Boyles certainly took the opportunity to not allow any understanding for this possibility. So we were treated to yet another hour of Boyles' negative opinion of Kerry's speech. No surprise there. Boyles went from asserting that Kerry gave no specifics to arguing how Kerry's specific remedies won't work. <GROAN> What else is new? Nada.

Also, Boyles kept saying that the president and all of Congress went on vacation instead of dealing with the 9/11 Commission's recomendations. So I emailed Boyles to let him know that the Commission chair and vice-chair are before the Senate Gov't Affairs Committee this morning. Too bad Boyles is misinformed and misinforming his listeners.

1. Already heard back frm Sean at Jim's office
Here's the response re: Boyles' comment that Jim just didn't "want to get up early":

"It's a longer story than that, but basically their producer never called to confirm the interview, and Hightower's physically exhausted from being out on the road for 3 weeks straight. Sean"

2. Boyles is an ass
He used to be tolerable, but I can't stand him any more.

But I'm such a radio junky that I give him a listen some mornings. He's done a 180 on his original support for the Iraq invasion. He now agrees that there are no WMDs. But his relentless one-sided negativity against the Dems has turned me off. Maybe he feels guilty about votng for Nader?

Seems like the guy is kicking and screaming but grinding slowly towards his earlier liberal views. How anyone can possibly consider a vote for the shrub is beyond me at this point. Especially since Boyles has asserted over and over that this is more a referendum on the incumbant and less to do with the virtues of the opposing side.

Pete was way more fun in the early days.
