Occupy Fort Collins erecting tent city near Old Town protest site
Protesters with Occupy Fort Collins are erecting a tent city tonight near the intersection of College and Jefferson avenues as they continue their indefinite 24/7 protest.

The group received permission from the Fort Collins Bicycle Co-Op to set up tents in the co-op’s parking lot just north of the protest location. City police told the group that members can be on public property 24 hours a day, but were not allowed to set up an encampment on the sidewalk. However, protesters last night said they were seeking private property upon which they could set up tents.

In an interview with the Coloradoan earlier today, Occupy Fort Collins organizers said the co-op had agreed to let them set up tents in a parking lot at 331 N. College Ave. Co-op officials confirmed their decision. The group wanted to set up tents to provide areas to rest, and also medical space should anyone need it ...
