Colorado boy, 12, in custody after parents found dead
Source: cnn

Colorado law enforcement officials announced Wednesday that a 12-year-old Burlington boy has been taken in custody in connection with the deaths of his parents and the critical wounding of two siblings.

The boy, whose name has not been released, has not been formally charged, nor is it clear what charges he might face. On Tuesday night the boy called 911 to report that at least three people in his house had been shot, according to police.

Burlington is a town of less than 4,000 near the Colorado-Kansas border.

10. Which restrictions would you do away with?

And which restrictions would have prevented this tragedy?

2. Why didn't the parents have a machine gun and take turns on sentry duty?
They should never have allowed themselves to be outgunned by a pre-teen. More guns would have prevented this.

4. The NRA will be happy to discover
that NO guns were harmed in the commission of this tragedy. Only the child will be charged (assuming he did it). And you know damned well, he could have done the very same thing with a bow and arrow, or kitchen knives, or even the family car!

5. I love this. "It's the gun's fault!"
"All guns should be banned!"

Meanwhile I see no information *YET* if there was abuse in the family, mental illness in the boy, etc.

But it's the *GUN'S* fault! :eyes:

11. Don't Be Obtuse.

It is in fact never just the gun's fault---that's a piece of simplistic NRA agitprop; guns don't fire by themselves. It is the huge quantity of guns, easily available to those who shouldn't have access to them, and the resultant tragedies that occur.

7. Jesus, people -- a little perspective.
If all you can do is make a snide anti-gun crack in the face of this tragedy then perhaps you should step away from the keyboard and take a breather.
