1. Senator Irene Aguilar is fantastic.

As an M.D. with much exasperated experience dealing with insurance issues, she is a powerful advocate for continuing efforts toward health care reform.

She may be new to the Senate, but she's already demonstrated a willingness to be responsive to the people of Colorado. She'd barely been sworn in before she responded to my first letter to her, and she has asked to be kept apprised of any information that can help her in her task. This is a most welcome contrast to my own senator, Scott Renfroe, who tends to resent any suggestion that better information is a good thing.

If you have opportunity to meet her and hear her speak, go.
