Woman dragged behind vehicle near Denver

By KIM NGUYEN, Associated Press Writer 42 minutes ago

DENVER - A woman was tied to a vehicle with a rope and dragged through suburban streets in a gruesome crime that left a trail of blood more than a mile long, police said.

Neighbors discovered the woman's body before dawn Monday about 20 miles south of Denver. On Tuesday, sheriff's deputies were still trying to learn her identity.

The victim's face was unrecognizable and an orange tow rope was found around her neck, said Nancy Foley, who lives next door to the house where the body was found.

"I was trying to sleep last night, thinking about how this poor lady was dragged, treated worse than an animal," Foley said. "She was really mangled.".......

5. Another CO "little piece of heaven" just like Columbine suburbs
Keep making America ugly, rape the earth, wreck its historical sites and natural beauty, spend billions on war and war profiteering and cut money to schools and social safety nets. That's the way to grow our towns and raise our country's youth.

:sarcasm:

16. I don't find death amusing, do you? I'm not surprised that humans find so
many different ways to murder but it's the human that kills, not an inanimate tool.

I wish people would focus more on killers and less on murder weapons. That's why I posted my sarcastic statement.

15. Unbearable to consider. Absolutely overwhelms some of us.
I'd like to not thank those who use the situation to try to call attention to themselves by making clumsy, oafish remarks.

Grow up.

17. This happened earlier this year
in Midland Texas also.

A woman called a cab and tried to rob the cab driver. Started stabbing him. He tried to get out but was caught in his seatbelt. She drove away with him screaming being dragged aside the door.

Drove about a mile with him pleading and screaming the whole way. She said she left him still alive. She also said she sideswiped parked cars to try to scrape him off the side of the car since she couldn't take his screaming.

He was dead when the police found him.

I think she plea bargained to life without parole.

Here's a link. No national news I can remember.

19. It happens OVER and OVER again.
Two years ago, a good friend of mine was dragged to death by a hit-and-run driver. The case received a lot of media attention, mainly because his family and the family of the girl he was with, who nearly died as well, would not give up, and had contacts with influence (her father is really "up there" in the legal community; his parents are absolutely passionate about finding the truth). Still, today, the case is cold and unsolved. If that's what happens to two priveledged, attractive young people with influential families (only pointing this out because of the Natalie Holloway/ JonBenet factor), can you imagine what happens to the rest? That summer, there were at least a dozen fatal hit-and-runs.
A few weeks later, a young woman in Aurora was killed in an unsolved hit-and-run. The Aurora police chief was quoted as saying something like, "Well, maybe this will teach people not to jaywalk." No better than saying "Well, so? She got raped? She was wearing a short skirt!"
My point is, this happens WAY too much and will not stop until we all start looking out for each other, AND holding our officials responsible for protecting us and catching those who hurt us! Perpetrators, at this point, truly do (with reason) think they can get away with it.
