Schaffer, Coors hold first debate
By The Associated Press
May 24, 2004

Beer executive Peter Coors and former Rep. Bob Schaffer held their first debate in Colorado's Senate race today, with the two Republicans both promising to bring morality to government and backing the war in Iraq.

Coors said he will follow the Ten Commandments — "The Big Ten, I call them" — when deciding if legislation is fair. Schaffer said the founding fathers prayed before drafting the Constitution and noted U.S. laws are based on a moral code.

The two men disagreed little during their hour-long debate on KCOL-AM of Fort Collins. They were scheduled to debate again Monday night in Denver.

The candidates were given six questions in advance on the war, jobs going overseas, federal efforts to improve education, support for the Federal Marriage Amendment, government gridlock and what principles they would use in supporting legislation. Schaffer and Coors both said the United States should stay the course in Iraq, echoing President Bush.

2. Coors will use the 10 commandments
when deciding if legislation is fair?

Looks like he's going to show his true colors in the primary (right wing fundy whacko), then run to the center for the real thing...

Where do the 10 commandments fit in with Coors beer, especially their commercials?
