Salazar explains decision to introduce AG candidate
By ERIN SMITH
THE PUEBLO CHIEFTAIN

WASHINGTON - Colorado Sen. Ken Salazar introduced Alberto Gonzales as President Bush's nominee to be the next U.S. attorney general at Gonzales' request, Salazar said Thursday.

And it's possible that Salazar may not vote for the man he introduced to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday. Gonzales was appearing before the committee for his confirmation hearing....

Does anyone know Ken Salazar's e-mail? I want to write him I tell him that he'd better not vote for this sadist or I'll want my vote back and will picket his Dairy Queen.

Time to start writing. His actions thus far are unacceptable.

2. OK, This is what I just sent.
I can't find his new e-mail address, but this is his old one.

Please Forward this to Senator Ken Salazar
attorney.general@state.co.us

Dear Senator Salazar,

As one of your delegates who campaigned many hours for your election to the US Senate, I was shocked that your first important act as Senator was to help introduce Alberto Gonzales to the Senate confirmation hearings. I hope that you realize that among his many indiscretions are incompetence in reviewing Bernard Kerik's qualifications to become Homeland Security Chief and a flippant disregard of the Geneva Convention.

I believe that your friendship was unfairly used by Gonzales and his superiors to their advantage. What about the need of the people for politicians who are trustworthy?

I certainly hope that you are not as foolish to actually vote for Gonzales' confirmation.

8. BTW, I got a response that my e-mail was forwarded to his DC office.
I'm sure that the Repukes who now run the AG office were more than happy to do so.

I really don't think that Ken will change parties. He knows that we would have his head. But I'm not so sure that he will not allow himself to be used by the right.

3. It's the vote that matters
No way should Salazar allow Gonzales to become Attourney General of he can help it. To do so would be a betrayal of his constituents in a liberal to libertarian state.

4. Oh He Will Vote For Gonzales
I was a delegate for Denver in primary - Salazar had to address the rumors that he would switch to a republican after elected.

5. Salazar is pro-death penalty.
Just one step away from approving torture, in my book. :(

10. You know, I have the same opinion of this state...so how did we manage to
re-elect Bush? I know there are many more * supporters than we want to admit, but I just don't see how we passed all those liberal agendas and stil went for the most RADICAL president in American history.
