Halloween haunted house idea for the Neo-con death cult
Edited on Mon Mar-28-05 12:26 PM by joefree1

Fundie House
A Fact Based Apocalyptic Vision for Conservatives as Foreseen by Liberals
http://www.ediablo.com/fundiehouse.html

Every Halloween Right Wing Fundamentalist present their apocalyptic vision for us "sinners" in the guise of a phony Haunted House venues such as Hell House, Judgment House, Revelation Walk, etc. You can read more about these faux Haunted House attractions here.
http://www.religioustolerance.org/hallo_he.htm

So perhaps we should return the favor. Recent films such as Day After Tomorrow have dramatize the disasters that wait for us if we follow the dead end road of the neo-con death cults. There could be rooms in this progressive "haunted house" such as the Toxic Kitchen (pollution), The Global Warming Salon (global warming), Doom Room (cult paranoia), Back Alley Abortions (illegal abortion and/or lack of medical insurance horrors), and the Apocalypse Attic (more right wing paranoia). Your ideas?

I hope to gather a group of artist, f/x experts, and coordinators for the first Fun-die House in Los Angeles for the Halloween season this year. However anyone anywhere is welcomed to come up with their version.

The image above is a part of the poster I created for this project. You can see more information on this project and download a high res Poster PDF file here:

on edit: I've also got a thread on this idea in the Activist forum:

1. A room for people who never get around to filling out living wills and
durable powers of attorney. That'd be pretty gruesome.

2. We have one of those Hell Houses in Tulsa
Put on each year by the GUTS Church. They have a room with actors pretending to be homosexuals burning in hell, crying out, "Why did I choose such a deviant lifestyle," etc.

I've always wanted to walk into that room and do my best stereotypical lisp and say, "Oh, my God! Look at those window treatments! This is hell for gays!"

Probably get me gang-witnessed though.

4. At the Fundie House I like to have faux evangelist at the entrance
Mimicking the real evangelists and inevitable protesters. Wouldn't be hard to find the humor.

5. I tried setting up a "Heck House" in 1988
I got absolutely NO response in my call for people to help.

Make sure your call goes out to people who want to fight Christo-Fascists -- not just "order sushi and not pay".

6. This is a great idea. I wonder if it would play in Ojai.
I know a lot of teenagers who might be interested in putting something like this together.
