I'll post my concert blurb here, too, cuz it'll likely sink fast in the
the Lounge:

My choir, the Foothills/Occidental Master Chorale performs this weekedn; we're doing the Faure Requiem & Lou Harrison's Mass to St Anthony. Lou Harrison is a local composer who died a coupla years ago - he had a straw bale house out near Joshua Tree that was written up in the Sunday LA Times a month or two ago. The St Anthony Mass Harrison wrote in 1939 as Hitler was invading Poland & it reflects something of the despair people felt at that time - and at this time as well. Our director chose it deliberately with that in mind (cool guy, eh?). Our concert will be with appropriate orchestra & everything, in Herrick Chapel on the Occidental College Campus in Eagle Rock. I'll be the 50-ish guy with the beard singing low bass. You can't miss me; I'll be wearing a tux. Here's the official blurb.

1. I studied composition under Lou
One of the most thorough professors I've ever had. He taught World Music Systems and I learned the ratios of every major tuning system known to man.

I'll be there!

2. Cool! I assume you're familiar with this piece?
You should come up afterwards & speak with Jeff Bernstein, our conductor, who is also a composer. He'd doubtless like to hear about your experiences (unless we really screw up the Faure, like we did last night :spank: ).
