CA-11 congressional race is probably headed for a recount.
Incumbent Jerry McNerney is neck and neck with the republican challenger David Harmer (R-Pombo Lite)
The Chronicle election page has McNerney up by only 120 votes as of this AM. Yikes!

1. In the final analysis, he only needs to be up 1 vote. Relax. He's in the WIN column.

2. I'll relax if there's no recount.
This shouldn't have been with two percentage points, never mind one tenth of a point.
The votes for the AIP candidate were probably siphoning off of Harmer's count, which is a good thing.

Here are the all precinct totals:
U.S. House : District 11
All Precincts Totals
Name.............. Party........ Votes..... %
Jerry McNerney... Dem..... 82,124 47.5%
David Harmer.... . GOP...... 82,003 47.4%
David Christensen AIP ..... 8,809 5.1%

It's not my district but it is nearby and was Pombo's seat for eons. With the new prop handing over redistricting to the so-called "independent commission" this one's a goner in 2012 anyway.

3. He will be in the lead for +1,000 soon enough.
Provisionals and late counts almost always benefit the Democrat in this state, no matter where or for what contest. He has +121 now - he's fine. I am sooooo pleased we have held this seat. That opponent was disgusting.

5. I hope that holds true.
Harmer is pretty vile but I'm sure his message resonated with former Pombo voters.

6. I heard Harmer's people being interview on my
drive home and they were suggesting something fishy was up. They've brought in a bunch of attorneys.
