(y'know, like Obama :-) )

This is an issue that's come up at work, and darned if I can find anything west of Chicago. Has the grassroots movement in the Bay Area sunk to such a low estate?

1. Like AmeriCorps? They're active in San Francisco. I haven't checked down here.

Their website looks like it's meant to attract 18 year old girls but this is it:

2. Not quite. And who could live out here on their stipend?!
More like the kind of community organizing that (shhhhhhhh!) ACORN does.

5. What sort of organizer?
And do you expect to make a CA style living doing that? Because Americorps is everywhere.

6. Well, I expect to make the kind of living I am now
nearly 40,000 American dollars each and every year, whether I need it or not! :sarcasm:

Community organizing will be only one part of my work as a Systems Change Advocate at an Independent Living Center, a nonprofit that serves people with disabilities.

7. The Inland Valley Belongs To The Same Community Organizers as Obama
I am posting a link to the group.

We have done some good things. If there isn't an IAF organization, maybe you could contact One LA to see about getting one started.
