1. I met Mike Copass and his wife while campaigning in Hillcrest yesterday

I was very impressed with his attitude and what he had to say.

Regretably, having focused exclusively on the City Council and City Attorney races this year I completely neglected to study the other offices. I didn't do my homework on that race, not that MY vote would have made any difference against the Susan Davis machine.

Speaking of the Susan Davis machine, her district coordinator Todd Gloria came in a strong first place in the San Diego District 3 city council race BTW. He ran a very strong race, as did the #2 winner Stephen Whitburn (my preference by a smidgen) who was supported by Congressman Bob Filner and other prominent Democrats. Turnout was very, very light, which disappoints me greatly but there isn't much I can do about it. I'm struggling to get my head around the amount of money spent on the race compared to the number of voters who actually participated. It's pretty mind-numbing actually.

I'm glad to say we have two decent choices in the runoff for District 3. We really can't lose in November. We will have a competent, energetic member on the council.
