The ballot I used made it very easy to vote.
NO on everything on the front.

2. Did you get a receipt?
I didn't. Were they supposed to give those out yet? Does anyone know?

4. Those scanners look WAY too much like paper shredders
They snatch the ballot from your hand and suck it in with great force.

The poll worker's assertion that it didn't matter which way you put the sheet in gave me little comfort.

:argh:

5. Voter Verified Paper Ballots are
not mandatory until Jan. 1, 2006 - the main reason why this 'special' election HAD 2 B held in 2005! EVERY proposition on 2day's ballot could have waited until the primary in June, 2006 - every one - nothing was in dire need that it HAD 2 be voted on NOW!

That is why GAS quite literally wasted $50 Million of OUR tax dollars.

6. Paper Ballots in Bakersfield, too.
All NO for the six on the front; YES for the two on the back.

I got a "tear off" stub as a receipt, and a Diebold machine sucked the thing right out of my hand.

I overheard a poll worker say that less than 20% of our precinct voted at the 4:00 pm mark, but in Bakersfield (where 66.4% voted for Shrub & Co.) those low numbers may be a good thing. Cross your fingers.

7. strange ballot
I found it odd that the 6 repub measures were all on the front, and the dem props were on the back. Luck of the draw, I suppose. I didn't even realize it had a backside at first. I couldn't help but wonder if it was somehow intentional, in the hopes some people would miss out on voting for or against 79 & 80. Made me wonder if this would help or hinder their passage.
