to the Memphis area, some great blues and jazz clubs and some fantastic restaurants. Good fishing and boating on the river and lakes in the area. Very flat! No hills close to the area you will be in a river plain. You will be about 1 hour from the Ozarks and about four hours from Branson Mo. so if you like country/folk/bluegrass music you'll a happy camper. Check the Memphis city website for the local doings. The temp will be almost identical to Va. with some wild thunderstorms each summer. Mostly they miss the Memphis area. You will be close to mound city the largest mound builder society site in the world. It is a conservative area but I'm from there so some do have brains, though most are very Christian as it is the social occasion everyone has, i.e. church. I own 40 acres in hardy Ar. which is about 65 miles west/north of the area. Land up there is going for about 1000.00 and acres. I think you can get a small home or mobile home in the Memphis are for about 30 to 60,000.00 with good land. Check out the Ark real estate guide on the web. I intend to retire there in about 5 years, it's far enough away from everything that no one bothers you and still close enough to visit on a day trip. Good luck!
