Dear Friends,

The past three months made up our best quarter to date thanks to you. More than 1,000 new people across Arizona and our nation came together with the supporters I've gained over the past year. Together, we will replace George W. Bush's standard bearer in Arizona's 3rd District and bring a new voice - our voice - to Washington. I have been amazed again and again by the generosity shown to me over the past year, and I cannot thank you enough.

At the same time, John Shadegg was having the best quarter of his entire career, raising more than $560,000 dollars. I told you before that I was expecting this. We knew he was calling in every favor, that John McCain was helping him shake out every dollar possible, but his final report is still interesting. It reads more like a list of advertisers during the Superbowl than anything else. The HMOs, Big Pharma, Wall Street, the telecom industry, and of course ExxonMobil and Big Oil are all well represented. There is even a PAC that supports Shadegg specifically because he is pro-outsourcing and voted against raising fuel efficiency!

That's typical for John Shadegg. He didn't spend the last 14 years in Washington becoming the insider's insider if it didn't mean he could cash in on it. That's why I need your help again. Last quarter would not have been our best ever if it weren’t for you coming through for me. Whether you can afford $250, $100, or $25, you are helping me stay competitive with a man who may as well start putting company logos on his yard signs.
