"BREAKING: US Attorney Sitting on Renzi Indictment Until After Election!

Posted Oct 21, 03:50 PM
Remember that Phoenix New Times article about the land deal that Rick Renzi was involved in?

Well we have learned that Rick Renzi was wiretapped presumably by the FBI soliciting a bribe in exchange for introducing a bill for a landswap in Cochise County.

An AP reporter discovered that Rick Renzi may be indicted for income tax fraud and a related charge to the bribery.

Rick Renzi has been interviewed by the FBI.

The U.S. Attorney for Arizona Paul Charlton has decided not to indict Renzi until after the election. The prosecutor assigned to the case is Howard Sukenic. He along with the spokesman for the U.S. Attorneys office is refusing to comment.

The investigation has been concluded, they succeeded in getting a federal grand jury to indict him but are sitting on the indictment until after the election in order to keep the seat in Republican control.

There really is a Culture of Corruption, and it is making its way to the Judicial branch."

5. Seems like it's too early for an indictment

NYT - snip from the thread above.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 — Federal authorities in Arizona have opened an inquiry into whether Representative Rick Renzi introduced legislation that benefited a military contractor that employs his father, law enforcement officials said Tuesday.

The officials said the inquiry was at an early stage and that no search warrants had been issued, suggesting that investigators had yet to determine whether there was a basis to open a formal investigation or empanel a grand jury.
