Email from Repub Rep Pamela Gorman re Clean Elections
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 10:34 AM by Humor_In_Cuneiform
Anyone know WHAT she is referring to???

:wtf:

"Hello,

Due to the volume of emails I have received on SCR 1013, I am sending out this auto-response while I wade through each individual email. If your email was not in relation to the striker amendment related to Clean Elections on this bill, please resend your email with no mention of "1013" in the subject line so it will not be inadvertently sorted to that folder.

In regards to 1013…

The Clean Elections system is wrought with errors that deny you, the voter, your rights and freedoms guaranteed to you by our U.S. Constitution. Specifically, it denies you your right to Free Speech, but it also limits your ability to participate in the political process by awarding matching money to candidates you would never have supported because they do not represent your ideals.

Additionally, the Clean Elections complaint process has become little more than a political witch hunt with certain people being given a "pass" on following the rules and others being drawn and quartered by biased judges who also happen to be the investigators,
the police and the jury. This agency is not under the jurisdiction of any other branch of government, yet controls the outcomes of elections and determines who will stay elected after you have cast your vote.

A nice idea, perhaps. But, in practice, a disaster for democracy.

SCR 1013 simply gives you, the voter, the opportunity to undo the "experiment" and take us back to our imperfect but tried and true system of campaign finance of the last couple of hundred years. Voters may choose to keep this broken system they tried on for the last few election cycles. I support giving voters that choice."

1. My Husband Jim Larson , Is running against this current representative
for the Senate in D6. Her name is "Gorman". She herself was origionally elected under Cleam Elections. She is a hypocrite. She is also violently anti choice. Seed money contributions can be sent to Larson for Senate 412 West Gleneagles Dr.Phoenix Az. He can accept up to $120 from anyone anywhere up to a combined total of around $3000.He can take $5 contributions and petition signatures to get him on the ballot only from Democratic or Independent voters in District 6. Please help.We need to send this woman packingnot elevate her to the Senate. And our Governor needs the support! Call 602 770 1967 for futher information on how you can help! We must also keep Clean Elections In Arizona. Gorman want our choices back in the hands of rich Republican donors!

The tone of her email is disturbing: Among other things

"political witch hunt"

"being drawn and quartered by biased judges"

Blech.

Very odd especially since AZ has been touted as a model for other states, including CA.

4. The part that makes me go huh is:
"Specifically, it denies you your right to Free Speech, but it also limits your ability to participate in the political process by awarding matching money to candidates you would never have supported because they do not represent your ideals."

What the hell? If both are running clean, how is that even possible? And why does a lot of money=free speech?

Does that mean that George Soros gets more free speech then I do?
