3. There is no home. This is according to the General Manager
Bob Christie. All local hosts have been informed to the best of my knowledge. And there is no suitable station available or interested. We are screwed.

5. I cannot believe that there are no wealthy democrats
living in this state.

I was hoping by now that someone would have stepped up
and made an investment.

AAR has become part of my life;
and I actually plan my Sat afternoons around the M & M show.

what can we do?

6. The wealthy Democrats
are out there. The question, at least for me, is why are they not helping AAR find a new home? Think Babbit and Udall for example. Democrat families with a long Arizona history.

to save AAPhoenix, and if nobody else does, that someone will do so.

Fingers crossed.

9. Everyone that I know
at the station is being mum.
No news at all. Zip,nada,nothing.
I used to think that no news is good news, but I don't know about this. Just a few weeks ago everyone seem to be very optimistic, but the tone has now changed a bit.
It pains me to see this happen. They have been great for Phoenix and great for my business as an advertiser.
Bob is an experienced radio guy. Maybe he can still pull it off.

12. Keep us posted since you have some inside scoop.
What is your business - if you are comfortable saying -
we will have to continue to support you.

And thank you for advertising with them.
From what I have heard, it is the lack of advertisers that is
bringing them down.

15. It's not the lack of advertisers.
It was the sale of the station. The support for the station by advertisers is on the rise. If you listen daily, you would hear many new advertisers lately.
My wife and I own Associated Appliance Sales. We have been with them from day one and the response has been overwhelming. Very loyal customers, and since we are talking about it, I'd like to thank everyone who has purchased from us.
Also I believe that most of the program hosts are talking about next week because the other progamming may not be ready to go on just yet, so they are living on borrowed time at 1010 until they find another frequency.

16. I do listen daily the problem
for me being a teacher. I can only listen during certain times of the day. I hear Dr. Mike while getting ready for work and Charles for the first 30 minutes on my drive in. It just worked out that they were talking about current national events when I was listening. On my way home it is Rhandi.

It is great to hear from someone who can report what they hear from their customers. A big thank you to you for supporting 1010,

33. Ed said they sold it for 20 million. Same thing happened in SC.
Somebody bought the liberal station and turned it into a Christian channel. I don't see why we need 8 Christian stations in Phoenix.

a finance show followed by a home inspection show. Both hosts said they would be back next week on Air America. Do they know something we don't?

Truth to Power Hour is just coming on now. Maybe they will have some answers.

18. Did you listen to M/M? Help me sort thru what they were saying.
It's not the money.

They were talking like they want us to have a massive protest or something?
Did you get that feeling.

And then they were saying that there is not enough stations on the AM dial.
Well I know one they could take over, that first station on AM.

I got real sad listening to them today.
I listen every Sat, have only missed a few shows since they've been on.
It's just what I do on Sats from 4-7, everyone knows not to bug me at that time.
Sigh....

19. That is the feeling
I got as well. I also sensed that they wished for more support for the local talk show hosts. They did state that it is not the money or the advertisers.

Is there some rule that says they have to be an AM station?

20. If it isn't the money or advertisers, then who would we direct our
protest to?

Who do we tell?

There was a petition at one time.

There were rallies planned, but then we found the purchase was a done deal. And AAR Phoenix hoped to get a new station. Then came word that they could stay on 1010 until they found a new station.

let them know the station means a lot to us.

22. I talked to one of the big hosts on KXXT yesterday
He said that the new owners are going to let them stick around for the time being. The owner of AAR Phoenix is in negotiations trying to buy the station from the Christian broadcasters. If that doesn't happen, they are going to find a new place. They have the full support of the national AAR organization in whatever they do. So try not to worry, okay?

24. That is awesome news. Thanks for posting.
I caught some pretty interesting info on the
m/m show yesterday. ( Had company over, but listened when I could:dilemma: Some things are just more important right now)

They were saying that they do this for free. Yes, the company makes money, but it all goes to the CEO's. Ugh - that really p's me off. Also that the funding came in - from a Republican donor, because "they understand that this is a good investment". The bros were going on about how important it is to keep this station on the air, they are there to do the dirty work for the candidates. Ex of the Swifties attack on Kerry, no one came out to defend him, it shouldn't have been his job to defend.
Bsh has Limbo, Hannity, O'Reilly...etc.

Guess right now it's just a matter of a place to call home, and from what you posted, sounds like things are going to work out. Fingers crossed.

29. Ed Schultz not being on the lineup would, well, suck.
I really like Ed Schultz. Aside from that, he resonates powerfully with the people I know who really do have to take a shower when they get done working, like my dad and the people who work for him.

Seriously, in like 3 months of listening to it when they work (he doesn't make them listen-- no one complains, so they leave it on), he had one guy who worked for him apoligize for voting for Bush in 2004.

30. I like Ed too.
Alot of people complain that he is too moderate, or that he talks about hunting/fishing too much
(I agree with the later). What I like about him is that he doesn't care what people think about him.
He is honest with himself, and speaks from his heart. He will go on the cable talk shows, which is something that I wish more of them would do...especially Randi. Altho - Rachel Maddow likes to open up
Tucker Carlsons mind.

31. Yes, I think Ed Schultz might make a transition easier for a lot of folks,
especially since he himself came over from the dark side.

Also if you didn't hear the words, but only the rhythm and tone and volume, he sounds a lot like the right wing talkers.

I've gotten used to him, at first I found him hard to listen to.
