Palin has contempt for the sovereign will of the people of Alaska
TWICE THE PEOPLE OF ALASKA VOTED DOWN AERIAL HUNTING.
SCOFFLAW PALIN HAS MADE ILLEGAL LOOPHOLES THROUGH WHICH THE IDLE
RICH CAN GET THEIR THRILLS BY SHOOTING MOTHER BEARS AND THEIR CUBS
FROM THE AIR

video of wolves being shot in Palin's aerial hunting program

She set a $150 bounty FOR EACH FORELEG OF A WOLF

She proposed $400,000 of the taxes of the people to promote
the aerial hunting of wolves by wealthy trophy seeking hunters.
Wolves travel in extended family packs.
When one or several is shot, all are terrorized.

1. Wolves are not necessarily good for the environment
I lived in Fort Yukon (yes, it really is a town in Alaska) and witnessed wolves attacking and killing domestic animals and dogs. When your companion is a dog and a wolf kills him, you don't care very much if wolves are being shot from the air or from the ground.

2. While I grieve for your loss, a dog is NOT part of the ecosystem
while a wolf is!
Everything we have brought with us is NOT a part of the natural ecosystems.
While I don't think i could ever kill a wolf for sport, i would in self defense. I don't think I could do it for revenge of a beloved pet however.
I love my dog, but unless he was defending me FROM the wolf, there's no way i'd let him get in that situation.
That said I'd take revenge very personally. I'd want to kill him with my gun, in my hands, hunting HIM!
not like a coward from the air!!!

I can accept hunting for pelts, and the like, but be a man about i, and hunt from the ground!!!!

3. Ecosystem and the enviornment....duh!
Since you chose to explain the definition of ecosystem to me, I thought you might be interested to know that an ecosystem is a natural unit consisting of all plants, animals, and micro-organisms in an area functioning together with all of the non-living physical factors of the environment. Dogs are included as well as wolves. Since I am not a hunter, I don't judge whether it is wrong to hunt from blinds, use guns, traps, poison, or whatever. Killing is killing. If you dog is ever attacked, you might have a different opinion than you hold now. I hope that never happens to you.

4. This is not hunting.
It is predator control. I have no idea why I would try to inject myself into this conversation. Wolves and bear populations are out of control in some areas of Alaska. These predators are causing havoc in those eco systems. Many rural people depend on moose and other prey populations for subsistance. These prey populations are being driven to dangerously low levels in many areas. In these areas it is legal to do aerial wolf control. It is not legal to hunt bear from the air. If you know of anyone poaching please turn them in to the authorities. They will be dealt with harshly.
As an aside....many wolf populations are suffering from their overpopulations...cannibalism and widespread mange and other deseases are common, as well as predation on domestic animals.
