Where's to eat in Juneau?
We are tourists from Washington, and we are in Juneau for a few days. Can anyone recommend a place to eat, for breakfast and dinner? You certainly have a beautiful city here, remote, but beautiful - we are going to see the glaciers tomorrow and taking the ferry to Sitka Thursday. Thanks, :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi:

1. There's a place called "Costa's" on the Merchant's Wharf that's kind of cool
It's a diner, basically, with "character". There's a good pizza place at the other end of the Wharf.

The Silverbow Inn has fresh homemade bagels and soups, it's up the street.

The most upscale place is probably the Baranof dining room downtown.

And The Douglas Cafe across the channel has the best burgers.

Anybody you run into in town can tell you where all these places are.

(Hope this isn't too close to advertising, but they did ask).

3. Call the Arts Council
Edited on Sun Aug-10-08 01:50 PM by DinnerTime
consider calling the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council, 907 586-2787 and signing up for their TLC: Taste of Local Culture dinners in the home for visitors. An opportunity to enjoy home-cooked meal with real Alaskans and support the arts at the same time. $35/person.
