This is the BCS Game I want: Alabama versus USC ... for all the marbles!

What do you think.

Both teams run the table (that means you just nail Georgia, they're used to losing). Texas loses to Tech or A&M and we're set.

Is this the best college game ever, better than USC-Notre Dame, better than Alabama-Penn State?

Gotta love it.

The Tradition

The Legend

Offense?

or Defense?

Are you up for this one. I saw CBS Sports BCS Bowl predictions and they didn't include Alabama. What's their major malfunction? USC - Alabama would be one of the best bowl games ever (maybe as good as Penn State - Alabama). Of course I'm for USC since I'm from The Golden State...but what the heck. It would be a perfect game for a perfect season.

1. You're forgetting one
Alabama also has to climb past Virginia Tech, presently undefeated and with a decent chance of staying that way. VPI's only real challenges remaining are Miami and Virginia, and they get those warm weather Miami boys on what will probably be a pretty chilly day in Blacksburg. Meanwhile, UA still has UT, LSU, Auburn and, if all goes well in those three, the SEC championship. As much as I hate to say it, there might be a loss lurking in there somewhere.

Sad to say, although a UA-USC game would be exciting, Bama may get left out in the cold on this one, just as Auburn did last year. That's a shame, but it's something we all will have to deal with until there's enough of an outcry to mandate a playoff system.

As it stands, assuming a USC-UT or VPI championship, what do you think the BCS match-ups would be for the one-loss conference champs?

Y'think Auburn will be motivated for this year's renewal of the rivalry?

2. I don't think it will happen
Alabama will not go 12-0 to qualify. Of all the contenders left in the SEC chase, Bama has the least depth by a mile. The last half of the season is when depth really starts to show, and Bama would have to beat four teams - UT, LSU, Auburn, and Georgia - who have just as good starting talent and much better quality depth. Bama already has lost their best offensive player to an injury, and his replacement is not even remotely close in ability. They cannot afford another injury to any starter, and that's a tall order considering who's left on the schedule.
It's possible, but I wouldn't bet on it.

3. Well, logic is convincing but would it be the best game.
Alabama, with all it's tradition and over powering teams cast as David against the Spatan Goliath. I think it would be the college football eqivalent of this past Saturday. Something about 'Bama this year has a little magic to it, plus great play and coaching. I'll pray to the universally recognized football God "Ditka" for a sign.

4. It'd Be Awesome,
no doubt. Autorank, did you see Snake Stabler do the intro for the UA/UM game on CBS? Pretty cool.

7. Must have been like the clouds parting.
I missed it due to work but, if you don't mind, can you slip Kenny a note and ask him to volunteer for a comback. Raiders may not win any more games but it would make them worth watching. Get Snow and Howie Long, Belitnikoff...call it the "too old for steroids gang."

Gotta make this happen. What a perfect game. IMHO, there's just Alabama, USC, and Notre Dame atop the "trinity" of college football's tradition of excellence!

David and Goliath!

5. Just let Bama beat the Vols and the Barn
Then I'll think about USC and Bama. What fun watching USC last Saturday. I really like that team.

8. It never occurs to USC that they can lose. What a Sunday!
"The Barn" has to go down for beating Bryant in that game (some guy named Dye or something coached Auburn). How about a blowout? 40-7, something like that.

6. Logic in this thread notwithstanding
It'd be a helluva game. However, even if the Almighty Ditka mandates everything falling in place, USC and VT would have to have a loss, 'cause Bama ain't leaving Jordon-Hare undefeated.:headbang:

9. Your right about Texas. I'm thinking they'll blow an easy one (oh sure).
But that's college football. Damn, the Big 12 plays a wus schedule. Really weak. Either Texas blows it in the Big 12 playoff (not likely) or A&M rises to the occasion and beats them. Texas is the pboblem.

Ah, forget logic. It will all work out:evilgrin:

10. Sounds like what shoulda happened last year
Then USC wouldn't be on their current winning streak.

11. If Auburn is undefeated, then had USC played them, USC would have lost.
Good one:)

You guys got screwed last year, no two ways around it.

The PAC 10 & SEC are the best conferences by far now. The Big 12 really stinks up the place, amazing. And why do their teams all have to play poor Arkansas State ? Who's next as the favorite Big 12 out of league play, Sarah Lawrence?
