How come so many Americans automatically think the word "global" means "worldwide"? No bloody wonder the world thinks America is out to rule the world!
1. BUY A DICTIONARY!
The FIRST definition of global is SPHERICAL. As in ROUND.
Was bush mocking Kerry for saying there should be a ROUND TEST and that bush thinks it should be a SQUARE TEST???
2. The 2nd definition of 'global' is worldwide. But OBVIOUSLY, unless you don't speak or understand any English, Kerry was NOT referring to a 'worldwide test'.
3. The 3rd definition of 'global' is APPLYING TO THE WHOLE, as in "ALL AMERICANS".
4. Learn some grammar and what TENSES mean.
5. Before mocking what you don't understand, LOOK IT UP. While the literacy level in America is one of the lowest of all modern nations, not ALL Americans are illiterate.
That doesn't make them "elitist". It just makes them able to converse intelligently and on a par with most the rest of the world.
Instead of wanting everyone else to dumb down, try to SMARTEN UP.
Kerry said:
"that passes the global test where your countrymen, your people understand fully why you're doing what you're doing and you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons."
Not difficult to understand at all.
