MSRNC strikes again
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6167650/

President Bush and Sen. John Kerry also hold the second of three debates, but if the first is any indication ? with no clear winner or major stumble ? they are unlikely to move markets, market analysts and traders say.

Huh?! MANY upon many polls said Kerry was the clear winner. And, whoo boy, * stumbled quite often and ultimately acted like a toddler in front of the cameras.

They also say the obvious about high oil prices leading to economic slowdown. Duh. It's a pity the media didn't cry "THE SKY IS FALLING!" when Toutatis was approaching Earth. :eyes:

3. Take a look at that article again
it was written and distributed by the Reuters news agency--not anyone at NBC, although MSNBC.com is responsible for putting it up on their website.

4. Moving Markets is the point-and need clear winner or major stumble analyst
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 04:45 PM by papau
say - and Market moved I thought on Friday - but it seems that was not a large move - proving there was no clear winner since there would be a large move if there was a clear winner - right - do I have that correct?

Reuters wrote a fine piece - but it is hard for even an honest reporter with an honest editor to wade through stock market bull shit!

5. Media Crisis?
I honestly feel more antipathy for the corporate media than I do for the ineptitude and ethical problems coming from the current Administration.

It is one thing to have a BIG mistake in Office and vote it out, it is another to have the media mis-inform the people and manufacture consent.

This raises my ire and I hope it is having the same impact on others. I certainly won't be forgetting it after the election. The media crisis is peaking and I can't see this getting swept under the carpet.

A Democracy DEMANDS and REQUIRES a free, honest press/media. I can't even imagine how patriotic or American one can call obvious media manipulation.

This is an opinion <----------------> This is a factual account of the news.

They are blurring that line so much that opinion is becoming factual news and vica versa. I tend to think of that as propaganda, not serious journalism.

That now deserves careful attention and HARSH criticism. Just who are they trying to fool?

7. couldn't agree more with this:
''I honestly feel more antipathy for the corporate media than I do for the ineptitude and ethical problems coming from the current Administration.''

that is IT, and the real cause of the selection of this cretin and his stringpullers

from REAGAN on in, they've been in the pocket of the pugparty

just check Mark Hertsgaard's book on this, or even Liberty Under Siege, which goes even farther back...to Carter....and you'll see how the media has helped support the interests of corporations to the utter exclusion of the public weal

they got SERIOUS during clinton, though, to the point of transparently obvious pug operative status, and have gotten only worse since then
