Poll question: So Bush Fancies Himself A Cowboy
What cowboy from the small or big screen does Bush remind you of?

He reminds me of Deputy Festus Haggen who always got in trouble and had to be bailed out by Marshall Matt Dillon

2. This from my husband, who is a REAL Texan:
Bush is like any smarmy, nasty carpetbagger. And every native Texan I know of agrees with him (all are Texans of several generations, btw). Calling Bush a Texan is fighting words around here.

13. Alfred E. Neuman ...
Along with the "What, me worry?" The resemblance is striking.

I try to picture Bush in a Western -- good guy or bad. I even try to give him a part as a gimp sidekick. It just doesn't work.

14. I can't think of any
cowboy on the small or big screen who (1) is afraid of horses, (2) set up a fake ranch to help his presidential bid, and (3) somehow got the media to play along, with reporters posing in front of the old ranch buildings while never showing the new luxury home Bush and family really stay in. I mean, who'd believe in a "cowboy" like that, in any context? No scriptwriter could get away with a scenario that implausible.

OTOH, if you want to compare Dubya to any number of other small men pretending to be big bad cowboys, you can find lots of repulsive examples in urban C&W bars on Saturday nights...

And BTW, I respect real cowboys; my grandfather was one, many years ago, on a REAL ranch in Texas...
