Charlotte visit highlights loss

Bush mentions talking in N.C. with widow of soldier killed in Iraq

In Thursday's presidential debate, President Bush mentioned meeting a widow while in Charlotte whose husband died in Iraq.

Bush met privately with families of Iraq casualties during last month's visit to Charlotte, said Bush spokeswoman Rachael Sunbarger. She said she doesn't know if Mary "Missy" Johnson was among them.

...

"You know, I think about Missy Johnson. She's a fantastic lady I met in Charlotte, North Carolina. She and her son Bryan, they came to see me. Her husband P.J. got killed. He'd been in Afghanistan, went to Iraq."

Missy Johnson could not be reached for comment.

The president has visited Charlotte twice during his 2004 campaign. Between campaign events in April the president met with Cheryl Hill, whose husband, Christopher Hill, was the first Charlottean killed in the Iraq war.

2. Charlottean, huh? I guess Charlottan is too close to Charlatan...
I just had to comment on that.

Interesting that they can't find Missy.

Had Gore done something like that, there would have been outrage!

6. Missy: Too embarrassing to reveal President couldn't perform
"He tried to love me as best he could, it was hard work, but in the end, nothing. Besides, it's just too unseemly to be hitting on war widows. The nerve."

7. What do you mean?
They cried and they laughed and they hugged each other. They did everything together that day. They even Tango'd Latino style with Shrub using some of his Mexican linguistics. He's the caring type.

9. I'm not surprised the media
isn't trying to get a hold of her and have an exclusive after Bush used her as a reference in the debate. I also heard that one rule was you couldn't use people's name's as reference? Is that true?

10. Not sure about the references - thought it was limited to audience?
Anyway, just technicalities WRT rules - not like it's a legal forum.

What is the problem with Dumbya and his handing out of his lovin' though? What's with this misogynistic pervert anyway?
