On the "global test"-
The Bush administration's position on this issue is that we don't need any PROOF of any kind of threat from a country before invading them. What the hell kind of foreign policy is that?

3. I think that this is the proper response to the "global test" attack.
Everyone knows that you don't invade other countries without proof of a threat (if you invade them pre-emptively at all).

6. Let's see: You invade a country that never attacked you... couldn't
attack you.... didn't threaten you or your allies... but does have lots of oil you want.

Sounds like what Iraq did to Kuwait in 1990.
Or maybe what we did in 2003.
Maybe we should call it Husseinian.

7. What is the quote from 1776?
The musical quoted Jefferson. I don't remember it, except that the reason for writing the Declaration of Independence was to set the matter before the nations of the world "in words so plain" that they would understand and approve.

We might want to find that quote. Because that's what Kerry is talking about. We were going to fight for independence anyway. But the Declaration got us the support of..........FRANCE, our first and longest ally.

9. Repugnicans Are Scared Of Tests...LOL
Of course these morons would distort what Kerry said, and this is the only scrap they could pull from the debates to create some buzz and red meat for their hive.

How stupid these asshole's supporters are for not understanding this didn't mean letting France (of course France) running the Pentagon, but the conditions that must be met to take an international invasion like the type done on Iraq.

These xenophobes want us to live in some cave and be just like the "terrorists" they claim are out to destroy us. They want to wipe out anything they consider "UnAmerican", shut down any type of dissent, idol worship an empty suit and be used as pawns by the powerful to do their dirty work.

I was glad to see even whores like Leslie Blitzer take Condisleeza to the woodshed on the way this quote is being distorted and turned into a lie. I had to do a double-take when I saw him play the clips rather than his usual simplistic oversimplification laced with Rovian talking points.

10. trigger happy?
saddam was contained. 2/3 of the country was a monitored no-fly zone, and he was up to his butt in inspectors. his armies had been reduced to the point where they could only just stay in power, and he had ZERO wmds.

he was NOT a threat. as kerry pointed out, there were 30 or so (i forget his exact number) other countries that were far more clearly threats to the u.s.

saddam was contained. sure, he was the enemy, but he had already been defeated to the point where he was no longer a threat. kinda like when you've imprisoned a murdered.

what we did was the moral equivalent of shooting an unarmed suspect in the back, or shooting an inmate while he's trapped in his prison cell.
