Newspaper Endorsements could provide a huge boost to Kerry
Edited on Sun Oct-03-04 12:12 PM by Quixote1818
We have already seen Bush's home town Newspaper reverse it's endorsement of Bush from their 2000 Endorsement. I have a very good feeling we will start seeing this trend all over the country very soon. Can anyone guess how their own paper may go? List your town and how you think they will fall. Also, when do most of the Newspaper endorsements start happening?

1. Won't happen in my city here in Bush country. The GOP owns the paper.

2. Our paper swings - went for Clinton, then Bush over Gore (m)
my bet is it'll go for Kerry.

5. I think you're right
about the major papers. Sun News is a bit unpredictable, tho' However, it's the minor papers I'm worried about. Case in point: the Daily Times in Farmington. I have a considerable in with the city editor and he's pretty liberal, but we have a new publisher who I think is ex-military and tries his best to be apolitical, so I'm not sure what they'll do. The point is, many "folks" in more rural or isolated areas have just one paper and if the paper swings for Bush, they will too.

9. The nice thing about Newspaper endorsements is several people have to vote
Even if the Editor is Right wing if most of the other people are Independent or Democrat then Kerry will get the endorsement.

6. The Grand Rapids Press was one of two papers in MI not to endorse Granholm
You can notice a Republican bias at the Press. I'm not sure the editors realize that the conservatism of West Michigan doesn't give them a reason to be biased.

But you never know, I guess.

7. Man! That's what I'm waiting for.
General Rove is going to have many extra daily headaches soon.

Here in Atlanta, we have a split personality newspaper. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has a lean Liberal editorial side, and a lean Conservative one as well.

I imagine they'll be split as usual, but what will be interesting is how the Conservative side can possibly come up with positives for Bush. Should be a laugh.

Nationwide, I see a real bruising in the endorsements for Bush. And of course, a loss in November.

10. Great!
Is the Arizona Daily Star a major newspaper in Arizona and is it considered to be a liberal paper?
