Bush's faces were the equivalent of his father looking at his watch!

They showed 'Faces of Frustration' and then showed Al Gore's sighs from 2000.

Seriously, Bush is toast.

13. Bush Sucked 100 Times Worse Than Gore....
Bush looked like Earnest T debating Einstein for the love of God...

At least Gore didn't shrink behind the podium...

Words can't describe the ass kicking Bush got...

When former heavyweight champion Floyd Patterson lost a fight he would wear a disguise because he felt he let his fans down...

If the Simian-In-Chief had an ounce of dignity he'd wear a Nixon mask for the rest of the campaign...

37. Alternate Universe: The Oklahoma Senate Candidates
I'll take ANY Dem for the Senate (or anywhere else), but in the opening summary: The Dem is a "maverick," supports the Patriot Act and various Shrub positions; while the Repuke was the opposite. So in order to get a so-called Dem in, it has to be a Zell type? The Repuke supported whassisname, the one running now in Illinois, against Shrub in the 2000 primaries, saying that that one understood the issues better than Shrub? Cue the Twilight Zone music.

Well guess what dipwads Bush DIDN'T say any of that because he can't formulate anything close to coherent thought.

No one has mentioned this but me and I cannot start a new thread, but want it heard that Amit Yoran, the cybersecurity chief resigned and quit with only 1 day notice. 45. That really was bad...
...just got through watching the MTP segment on the debate. Wow. They couldn't spin it as a "win" for the Prez, so they worked really really hard to make it a "doesn't matter". They brought up points that Bush *could have* used, if he had had the presence of mind to do so. They downplayed the importance of body language, even though that was a major topic during the 2000 elections. It was actually quite amusing. At least Russert showed the "Faces of Frustration", before showing the Gore one, and it did tend to make the comparison that body language did make a difference last time (*) ...

The PNAC guy (the one in the gray suit), said that Bush's enduring strength on the topic of Iraq stems from the fact that he has a strategic vision, that the link to terrorism is a deeper one anyway, that what is needed is a beacon of democracy in the Middle East and that's what the Iraq war is really about, and why it's connected to the War On Terror. --Whatever, dude. That was *never* brought up as a reason for going to war; if it was the reason we invaded Iraq, then we were misled, pure and simple. We were told it was to preempt an imminent threat... In Other Words, the President Lied To The American People.

The woman was just, hard to watch. She so wanted this debate not to matter! She never said anything outright about how poorly her boy Bush had performed, but clearly was squirming because she knew she was doing damage control.

I don't know who the liberal guy is. He was okay but didn't have the telegenic presence of the others, he did not talk into the camera, therefore was less effective than he should have been. Personally, I would have enjoyed seeing him do something emotive -- like, sneer openly when talking about *'s performance. But that's just me. ;-)

=====

(*) (yes, I know that "Gore won". I get that. But, the media spin machine was able to make a lot of hay out of his supposed gaffes during the debates, now it's George's turn and he's getting reamed ha ha)

48. Why wasn't Bush's reaction as big a deal as Gore's sighs?
Gore's reactions were the main topic of discussion after that debate. Why does Bush's much more animated and damaging expression get only a small treatment at the end of the discussion? Most of the media doesn't even want to bring it up. I'm glad they showed the Gore clips because it shows what a double standard there is for Democrats.
