The GOP last election managed to project all that was bad about Clinton onto the entire Democratic Party. Even people who might have voted Gore had this subliminal feeling that he was somehow soiled.
If anything, I think that "soiled" perception is now on Bush. Too many people have too many reservations about the job he has done on homeland security and also there are too many questions about whether we should even be in Iraq. Too many people are starting to wonder if giving more money to the rich when the working poor are having trouble getting by is really helping the economy.
Kerry knows this, which is why he boiled his campaign down to four words Thursday night: A vote for Bush is a vote for "more of the same".
Kerry knows there is dissatisfaction with Bush and is playing to it.
3. You know I saw that coming. Ron Reagan Jr on Harball last night
said it was without doubt that the public with all the polls believed Kerry easily won. He went on to say however it appears the media wants to keep it close or something to that effect.
Have you noticed how many times they say, this could change and we really don't know who won for 24 to 48 hours. (what they are saying until we can change the perception of who really won.).
The hell with them, they won't get it done this time and besides it was so dam obvious who won. Bush is not going to get any brighter before the next debate either and it is supposed to be a townhall style debate.
"this could change and we really don't know who won for 24 to 48 hours. (what they are saying until we can change the perception of who really won.)."
I think you hit this one dead on. But as my husband and I were talking, Saturday and Sundays will be taken up by football. Their spin cannot compete with football. Those that venture into political arenas know better than what is spun right now. I think their window of opportunity was yesterday and they missed that boat.
24. You hit that one head on as well. I will be watching some games
myself & get away from the political issues for awhile. Also, it is my feeling that the news media is losing their credibility so fast that they will not have the power of persuasion they have had in the past. I think the public is getting on to their tactics and also getting tired of them telling us or talking down to us like we are total idiots and unable pick a winner of a debate in this case.
4. Then it's time to go to war. 'Thanks for sharing.'
Thanks for being on top of this. What they did to Gore was both outrageous and painful to watch. If they were upset by 700 emails in their mailboxes supporting Kerry after the debate, how will they feel with a full scale onslaught. Why don't you document who it is if you can (I'm not watching anymore and I'm pounding the pavement for JK all day today). I'm sure there would be a robust group of e-warriors ready to take them on. Maybe it's time for a real BOYCOTT also.
How on earth do you think that this president has been able to get away with all the low caliber behavior out of his White house and his cohorts and his house and his senate and his court. The media is too controled by his cronies. I blame most of the media for the mess our country is in for not having dogged this guy hard before. It seems they are not doing their job and the USA is going to hell in a handbasket while the rest of the world takes up the slack. Something must be done. I keep hearing rumblings about the necessity to TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK. (FROM THESE REPUQ HACKS AND LIARS AND CON MEN AND MURDERERS.
11. One of the first things Kerry needs to do when he gets in the White
House is break up the media. This is for the common good of all so the media doesn't have to broadcast what their corporate owners want and order them to.
The media should be free and bias free as it pretty much used to be. Regardless of them saying the networks were liberal, I still think the old newscasters kept their political biases to themselves and reported the news as it should be reported and did not make things up as the Fox Whorehouse does.
14. or Kerry could only provide access to independents
bringing back the fairness doctrine and breaking up big media would take the congress and I'm not sure we're gonna get a sweep big enough to take Congress too.
