What can I Do to Help..........................Kerry ?
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 08:19 AM by Fluffdaddy
I will be the first to admit that I was really really down and lost all hope before the debate. But as an ex-boxer I can smell the fear in a adversary when you give him a good shot to the midsection and you hurt him, even when he's trying not to show it. For the first time in 2 months I small fear in the Right-wing-nuts and the Bush camp. They are trying not to show it.............But I smell it. They was SHOCKED at how bad Bush looked. As any good boxer knows, this is the time to move in with your best shots.

What can I do to help with throwing some head shots ? I give money, more money then I ever give to a campaign. other then money what can I do.......What can WE DO ?

thanks for an advice

1. Either a house party meet-up
or volunteer with the campaign. Go to johnkerry.com and see what they need ...

2. Here is Michael Moore's letter with 5 ways!
Dear Friends,

This is it: One month to D-Day! That's "Dump Bush Day," November 2nd.

It's now time to roll up our sleeves -- each and every one of us -- and get to work. There will be nearly 10 million of you who will read this letter either on my list or on my site. An army of ten million cannot be defeated! The time for hitting the snooze button has passed, voter registration deadlines start Monday and we only get one shot at this!!!

My plan is simple. Will you join me in the following?

1. REGISTER FIVE PEOPLE TO VOTE THIS WEEKEND. There are only a few days left in most states before voter registration is cut off. Keep asking like-minded people you know if they are registered. If they are not, take them to this website where you can show them where they need to go to get registered. Offer to take them there yourself. Take them to lunch afterward! If you can, pick up registration forms from your local city or county clerk (or get them from you local Democratic Party or Kerry HQ). Carry them with you everywhere you go. Hook up with local groups standing outside shopping centers and events this weekend or Monday or Tuesday and register people there. Nothing is more critical in the next 48 to 72 hours than to get our people registered. The wealthy and the conservatives are already registered -- the poor, the single moms, the recent transplants to your town are not. And neither are students and young adults (check local and state laws, some of which make it very hard for college students to register and vote). VOTER REGISTRATION ENDS ON MONDAY IN Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. Make no mistake, if you live in any of these states – realize now that WHAT YOU DO OR DON’T DO THIS WEEKEND will have an effect on this election!!!

2. CALL AND VOLUNTEER NOW. There is nothing more important in the next 31 days than spending whatever free time you have working to remove George W. Bush from the White House. Again, call the local Democratic Party HQ or the local Kerry HQ or the ACT office and say you want to help. They will put you to work making calls, going door to door, putting up yard signs, lining up rides on Election Day for senior citizens, etc. Removing Bush and electing Kerry will require physical labor on all our parts. We just can't sit home and wish it to happen. (A Warning: Some local Dem HQs are not always as organized as you would hope them to be. If you call and they don't have it together, don't get discouraged. Just move on to my next point, #3...)

3. START YOUR OWN KERRY CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTERS! If the Dems don't have it together in your area, don't complain, just take matters into your own hands and run your own campaign for Kerry. Or, even if there is a strong Kerry presence in your county seat, there still may not be in the outlying areas where you live. There's nothing wrong with you and your friends saying, "OK, today we inaugurate the Kerry HQ here in Hooterville...or Kurt Cobain High...or Dorm Building 5!" If you can't get signs or leaflets, make your own! Don't wait for someone to do it, otherwise it won't get done. Send me pictures of your own renegade Elect Kerry/Dump Bush HQ and I will put them up on my site!

4. IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN A SWING STATE, GO THERE AND START SWINGING. Virtually everyone in this country lives within driving distance of one of the 20 battleground states where the election will be close. Pick one weekend this month and go on a fall color tour to dump Bush. Pack up the kids or the neighbors, pick a town -- any town -- in your nearest swing state, reserve a room at the local Motel 6 and hit the road! Volunteer online or call ahead to the local party HQ to say you are coming and you want them to put you to work (again, if there is no one there to put you to work, make your own handbills, print out a thousand of them, and just show up in Anywhere, Ohio and start going door to door). There are other groups doing work in the swing states that you can hook-up with, like ACT and Driving Votes who could really use your help getting out the vote. You don't have to feel left out of this election just because you live in New York or California or Illinois or any of the other 29 states the candidates won't be visiting. Take matters into your own hands. Think of what a great educational experience it will be for your kids -- or yourself. JUST ONE WEEKEND THIS MONTH -- PLAN IT NOW!

5. TAKE OFF WORK OR SCHOOL NOVEMBER 2. We need everyone working the polls, the phones, the neighborhoods from dawn to dusk. Poll watchers are needed to make sure there is no cheating. Help is needed in all 50 states and you can do it from home or you can park yourself in a swing state for the day.

There you have it. Five Simple Steps. I’ll be doing my part as I travel the country to the 20 swing states. Please join with me in this effort. Kerry is doing his part, he won the first debate (stop the kvetching...of course YOU would have done a better job! But YOU'RE not running for president! He beat Bush...Bush must go!!). Remember, what's at stake in this election is bigger than John Kerry, bigger than political parties and all the other noise that accompanies politicians and their elections. This is about that mother from Flint, Michigan -- and all the other mothers from all the other towns in America -- who have lost and WILL LOSE their sons and daughters in Bush’s never-ending war in Iraq.

Please, put aside whatever keeps you from jumping in to do the necessary work to remove George W. Bush from office. This can only be accomplished when you, right now, stop reading this letter and make that call (or click that mouse) to get involved.

Thanks so much...

Michael Moore

3. Get Others to VOTE Kerry
Convince some undecided or fence-sitters to come over to the Kerry camp. Help a get out the vote group or volunteer at local Kerry/Edwards office to canvas neighborhoods. My wife and I did that last weekend. My daughter helped sign up 70 kids to vote this summer (she's 16 and cannot) and went down to the office to help load in to the computer database the responses gathered by canvassers like me.

Lots can be done. Just ask!

Thanks for making the money donations, too. I, too, have given more than I have before and to more groups - K/E, DNC, ACT, MoveOn.pac.

Keep jabbing for the midsection!

4. call the local Democratic Party and volunteer. You can make
phone calls, help get out yard signs and bumper stickers. Volunteeers are needed to watch the polls and then call Dem voters who supported Kerry but have not yet shown up to vote. Some people sit in the polls and check off the Democrats that have shown up...this is an all day thing and even if you can only spare a half hour or an hour election day, the other volunteers can sure use a break.... Then periodically other volunteers go home or to HQ and call people who have not voted yet. Others give rides to the polls.
Right now we are calling people to ascertain who is committed to voting Kerry, who is leaning Kerry, who is undecided or leaning Bush, then we try to get info to the leaners to move to Kerry. Firm Kerry supporters are the number one priority to get to the polls and actually vote on election day.
This is a LOT of work and boy we can use help.

6. Plaster your city with the TWO-FACED graphic!
I do it everyday and it is extremely effective in firing up our base AND mocking Bush. We must mock him and his supporters. I use 3M Spray Adhesive and I glue it to metal utility poles, bus stop shelters, especially in minority neighborhoods, campus neighborhoods and busy street intersections in so called bad neighborhoods where the freeptards will be scared to get out of their car to remove it. As fast as they peel it off withn their fingernails I put it back up.

I am on day 6 of yhanging this flyer and it is truly genuis. You can also give it to cool college students (especailly art school students) to help disseminate it)

Go to http://somnamblst.tripod.com to download high resolution TIF or PDF file to print and distribute everywhere. Utility poles, bus stops, bulletin boards, newspaper racks, car windshields, phone booths, etc. Guerilla marketers needed to create MAXIMUM BUZZ!

7. THANKS FLUFFDADDY! - a few more ideas
If you call your local Dem HQ they probably WILL keep you busy, but just in case, here are a few more idea:

* Letters to the editor of your local paper supporting Kerry

* If you're in a solid "red" or "blue" state: phone calls to volunteers in swing states - see JohnKerry.com for details on how to help the campaign in that way.

* If you think people in your area might be wavering or on the fence, go to BigPath.net and print up some flyers that you think will be most persuasive. Put them on people's cars in parking lots or wherever they will be seen.

11.  Body blows
Leave the head shots to the Kerry campaign. Our role is to work the body--that's the get out the vote action. Depending on where you are, that might be door-to-door or phone work. Either way it's important.

12. GOTV in low income areas with the TWO-FACED graphic
This graphic really resonates in low income neighborhoods. And posting bills in low income areas is almost risk free. It is not something people complain about, there is lots of foot traffic because low income people often do not have cars and unemployed peopel have a lot of time to trash talk and spread rumors.

To be successful we must close the deal with all the newly registered low income likely democratic voters. We must fire up what I like to call haters. We want that 18-24 year old low income demo to hate * like we do. We do not need to explain why. TWO-FACED says it all.

As I was glueing it to a bus stop shelter last night two people in a car stopped at the light honked and started cheering. All you ahve to do is show it to low income people and say "you know he is"

If low income urban people increase turnout * is toast

I am begging people to try TWO-FACED. I swear it works.

13. Also when I hang the TWO-FACED graphic I talk to people
who are waiting for the bus or just standing around because they are poor and have nowhere to go and no money to spend. No one knows better than low income city people how disastrous the Bush economy has been. This is street canvassing at its most effective. I reach so many people in a short period of time. Even though I am white and doing this in predominantly minority neighborhoods I never feel unsafe. We are all on the same side and we must reach out to each other. We are a diverse party unlike the GOP.

Try TWO-FACED on your way home from work. Just jump out of your car and glue or tape it to a utility pole, a bus stop advertising bench or shelter. If a freeptard scrapes it off with their fingernails put another one in its place. Everyone can afford to spend $5 a day at Kinkos.

WE WANT EVERYONE SAYING BUSH IS TWO-FACED!

14. Real folk know
That's been my experience, too. It's in the suburban fantasy-lands that the Bush delusions are strongest but make no mistake: real folk know what's what and they're pissed enough to vote.

16. get people to be POLL WATCHERS!
The only thing that can thwart Kerry now is massive election fraud. This is the front that needs the volunteers.
