"Jeb Bush Dismisses Carter on Fla. Vote"
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Gov. Jeb Bush said Tuesday that "conspiracy theories" about the state's voting machines are "nonsense," and he criticized former President Jimmy Carter for questioning whether Florida can hold a fair election.

Carter said in an opinion piece in Monday's Washington Post that despite changes designed to eliminate voting problems in Florida, conditions for a fair election still do not exist.

Carter wrote that a repetition of the problems of 2000 — when some Floridians said they didn't have confidence their votes were counted — appeared likely.

"There is this constant haranguing of nonsense, including President Carter — which is a surprise to me because I've admired his compassionate actions in his post-presidential period," Bush said

1. In other news . . .
Following his conviction on federal income tax evasion, Al Capone proclaimed his innocence.

2. I'm surprised
...Jebby didn't say President Carter (A Truly ELECTED President, versus Dumbya, who had to be appointed) was using "Fuzzy Math"...

The Bush Family is Evil. Start from that perspective, and it somehow makes sense what drives these spawns of Satan...

6. FWIW, I dont' any "noble class" family admits its errors, or sins....
by noble class I don't mean morally, but well-moneyed (is that a word?). Well heeled, perhaps.

As much as I like John Kennedy and Ted Kennedy, various members of their family have had their skids greased from time to time. How long was it before Skakle actually came to trial?

Don't get me wrong, I think there is a difference between the republican noble class and the democratic noble class: the Dems just want to get away with stuff. The repugs want to get away with stuff and destroy everyone else in the process. It isn't enough to win, everyone else must die.

IMHO

9. well, i am glad you make the distinction between democrats and republicans
and realize that republicans want to get away with stuff and destroy everyone else in the process...what skakel did had consequences for the girl's family and in later years for himself. what the bushes are doing in terms of stealing our democracy has no consequences for them but lots of consequences for we the people and for the rest of the world as well.

Jeb Bush is full of hot air and just like his brother he hides his true criminal self behind a hypocritical righteous indignation about many things, including about what Jimmy Carter has said re: the Fla. elections.

I am sure that Dorothy Walker and HER FATHER George Herbert Walker, after whom POPPY was named , must be very proud of the crimes perpetrated by their descending blood on these very United States as well as on other countries.

7. "conspiracy theories"
Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 09:46 AM by in_cog_ni_to
You mean this was all a bad dream? FL. didn't REALLY purge 57,000 AA voters from their voter rolls? Police didn't harass voters on their way to the polls? People weren't turned away from their polling place because there venue had been changed and they weren't notified of that change? You mean fliers weren't mailed out to remind people to vote on the DAY AFTER THE ELECTION? You mean the Supreme Court didn't, for the first time in our history, appoint/select the chimp for us? You mean Al Gore didn't REALLY win the 2000 election by 537 FL. votes and 500,000 popular votes? You mean to tell me that Bev Harris hasn't uncovered a back door to the GEMS program where vote totals can be changed? It's all just a bad dream? A NIGHTMARE? Jeb can kiss my fucking ass. We know what his evil plans are and he's not going to get away with it this time. :grr:

8. repugs use the term "conspiracy theory" to dismiss points, BUT...
you'll notice how sly that is. To label something a conspiracy theory does two things: it casts doubt on the persons's sanity and dismisses out of hand the ENTIRE question without having to address whether any of it is accurate.

Repugs ACT like labeling something a conspiracy theory makes it untrue, but in point of fact, that is not a rebuttal, and ignores the fact that a theory can still be true.

chickensh!t dodge, IMHO.
