Dean Criticizes Bush Over Stem Cells

Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean on Friday criticized President Bush for restricting stem-cell research based on religious beliefs even though his own faith affected his decision to extend legal rights to gay couples.

He tried to make everyone happy and in the process (this should be repeated by whoever gets the nomination) effectively killed research on Alzheimers, Parkinsons, CANCER and the friends and family of those who suffer should be reminded of it. He tried to keep the Jesus freaks happy.

The stem-cell research fear is not different at the core from the fear and ban of anatomy studies in the Middle Ages (same "ethical" issues were invoked at the time). Bottom-line, discoveries about the human body are always seen as a threat by certain religions because it limits the arbitrary world they can make up to control people's thoughts.
