General Telephone Number (Local): 1-614- 466-2655

Here's his picture for a do it yourself dart board - of course he's a Republican.

Action alert from "The Majority Report"

*** ACTION ALERT *** DON'T LET THIS ELECTION BE STOLEN! ***

Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell is trying to be the Katherine Harris of 2004 by stealing the election. Blackwell's office has told county boards of elections to strictly follow two antiquated provisions in Ohio election law:

One requires Ohio voter registration cards be printed on thick, 80-pound stock paper. The other ordered boards to strictly interpret the rules regarding provisional ballots, the ones cast by voters who move before the election but are still registered in Ohio.

CONTACT BLACKWELL, LET HIM KNOW YOU'RE NOT GOING TO LET HIM STEAL THE ELECTION. SPECIFICALLY, ACQUAINT HIM WITH THE FOLLOWING:

Sec. 1971. - Voting rights
(2) No person acting under color of law shall -
(A) in determining whether any individual is qualified under State law or laws to vote in any election, apply any standard, practice, or procedure different from the standards, practices, or procedures applied under such law or laws to other individuals within the same
county, parish, or similar political subdivision who have been found by State officials to be qualified to vote;
(B) deny the right of any individual to vote in any election because of an error or omission on any record or paper relating to any application, registration, or other act requisite to voting, if such error or omission is not material in determining whether such individual is qualified under State law to vote in such election.

Thanks! :hi:

Other Ohio Boards of Election. (http://serform.sos.state.oh.us/sos/boe /) The above were the most populous and most pro-Gore in 2000. The others deserve to be contacted as well, but these especially, since they probably represent the Kerry's base in 2004.

Hi Kenneth,

A Republican Secretary of State taking poor voters off the roles due to a technicality? Did you know that technically YOUR MAN Bush missed the deadline in Florida to get on the ballot? Seems that a REPUBLICAN was able to make an exception for HIM. I suggest, as the fair person that you are - that you do the same.

13. My crappy little "letta"
I titled it "JUSTICE"

Dear Mr. Blackwell,

I am saddened at your recent attempt to discourage voters in Ohio with the "technical paper weight issue" ...

As a person who has tried to inspire others to vote and realizes how easily discouraged people are with the Bureaucracy to begin with, your position is especially heartbreaking.

Further you may not be in compliance with the laws surrounding this issue.

http://www.thecre.com/fedlaw/legal6/uscode42-1971.htm

"... No person acting under color of law shall - deny the right of any individual to vote in any election because of an error or omission on any record or paper relating to any application, registration, or other act requisite to voting, if such error or omission is not material in determining whether such individual is qualified under State law to vote in such election ... "

Please don't further discourage the public from taking part in our democracy. Many voters in Ohio registered for the FIRST time. Your actions may discourage some people for good.

I hope you'll do what is just for the people of Ohio, and the people of our nation.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

He just posted a letter from Roxanne (Demactivist)

Diebold not the only bad voting machine company (Whistleblower)
by RoxanneJ
Tue Sep 28th, 2004 at 03:22:09 GMT

Note: H-I = Hart Intercivic (Texas DREs)
The tech worked for H-I for over two years and left voluntarily because of what he believed to be "criminal fraud, extreme negligence, and a distinct and troubling pattern of failure to uphold the public trust both in violations of the spirit of its contracts also in concealing problems in an industry which so crucially represents the public interest."

The technician addressed problems in Ohio, which he saw while working for H-I, and problems in Tarrant County, Texas, which is where he went to work after leaving H-I.

In Ohio, he is concerned with three main problems:

Fraudulent Acts

- The computer submitted for security testing in Ohio was not the same as the computers being actually used in the field. EVM vendors are supposed to provide "production models" of their units so that they can be evaluated by both InfoSentry and Compuware (the vendors hired by the state to evaluate the voting machines).

Fraudulent Claims

H-I's eSlate is billed as storing vote data randomly, so as to prevent specific votes from being traced to specific people. The tech says that this is not true and that simple remedial measures which could have addressed this flaw never made.

H-I claimed to InfoSentry that it had an "ongoing information security awareness program" which it did not.

H-I claimed to InfoSentry that it maintained numerous documents on information security systems policy for its employees. Our tech was never able to read any of these documents or even find proof of their existance.

H-I told the Ohio SoS that election results are not transmitted over public networks, which is not true as unofficial results were transmitted this way. A computer hooked to a public network (like the Internet) is a system vulnerable to outside attack.

Misleading Conduct

Compuware claimed that safeguards were in place to prevent H-I computers from crashing. One would assume that such a claim was based upon information supplied by H-I. Our source says that systems crashed still occurred and that the causes were seldom revealed to the customers.

Compuware report claims that storage cards containing vote data cannot be altered using the Windows File System. While true, there are still many other easily procured tools which CAN be used to alter the data.

Compuware claims that error and audit entries are tracked. This is misleading because only SOME entries are tracked, not ALL.

Since Compuware was supposed to audit H-I software we are left to wonder about these misleading claims. Either Compuware failed to look closely at the system or they simply accepted claims from H-I without question.

32. SoS Blackwell has more than one dirty trick up his sleeve--I'll bet

34. Done... and of course receptionist was no help
friggin receptionist was rude and tried to play dumb, like this was the first time someone has brought this to her attention. It wasn't until I pressed for an answer and asked if I was the only one she heard from. She then had to admit many others are calling and she was taking messages. She also told me she doesn't owe me an answer to anything..it's not her job.

She took my name and number. She said she doesn't have to answer any questions. I called WBNS 10TV in Columbus, they said a lawsuit was filed by Ohio dems claiming this is a violation of the Help America Vote Act.
